Job Description

Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Melbourne
Full‑time or Part‑time | Multiple Clinics | $80,000–$115,000 + super (more for TL)

If you’ve done paeds or community OT for a while, you’ve probably seen “low KPI, great culture” ads that still end in reports at 9pm.

I work with a small group of Melbourne paeds‑leaning clinics that are actually structuring for sustainable workloads, protected admin, real supervision and the coming Thriving Kids changes – not just hoping NDIS stays the same.

Packages:

  • Clinician / Senior: $80,000–$115,000 + super (experience and duties dependent)

  • Higher for clear Team Lead / Lead Clinician roles.

Current roles (snapshots)

  • Inner West / CBD: Structured paeds/community OT clinics with set session templates, protected admin blocks, strong MDT and excellent supervision; above‑average salaries.

  • North–East: Family/community‑feel service with below‑average KPIs and project work (groups, programs, school/EC partnerships) actively encouraged.

  • South–East (Berwick / Narre Warren): Supportive clinic with sustainable KPIs, ideal for someone ~3rd–5th year wanting to start taking on some supervision/mentoring.

There are a few other options around Melbourne (and one or two regional) as well if these aren’t quite the right fit.

Common threads

Across these clinics I prioritise:

  • Protected admin time – notes and planning built into your template, not done on the couch at night.

  • Regular supervision that actually happens, plus internal PD in work time with KPI concessions.

  • A move away from endless 1:1 NDIS sessions towards groups, programs and partnerships (school/EC, parent programs, community groups) that line up with Thriving Kids and foundational supports.

Who this suits

Paeds / community OTs with:

  • At least 1–2 years’ experience in paediatrics or mixed paeds/community disability (with options up into senior/lead).

  • An interest in a clinic + community mix and working in MDT teams.

  • A genuine focus on boundaries and sustainable caseloads, not just chasing higher KPIs.
