We are seeking experience Nurse Unit Managers for Metro and Regional roles in Melbourne and Regional Victoria.

We have Nurse Unit Manager roles across Emergency, Med/Surg, Oncology and Mental Health in Metro and Regional Victoria.

 

Nurse Unit Manager

Key Accountabilities

  • Clinical Excellence: Lead and deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care.

  • Team Leadership: Provide professional guidance and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering a learning environment.

  • Safety & Quality: Implement patient safety frameworks and lead quality improvement initiatives.

  • Operational Management: Oversee daily workforce planning and manage unit resources efficiently.

  • Relationship Building: Build strong partnerships with VMOs and other external partners

Key Skills and Experiences

  • Delivering evidence-based and person-centred care to diverse patients.
  • Managing shifts (afternoons, nights, or weekends).

  • Leading successful quality improvement projects.

  • Coaching, mentoring, and supervising other clinicians.

  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including VMOs and families.

  • Experience with rostering and clinical audits.

  • Familiarity with MS Office and other technology platforms.

  • Desirable: Experience with recruitment, performance management, budget management, and implementing change.

Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing)/ Nursing/ or equivalent
  • Registered Nurse with no restrictions with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - AHPRA
  • Post graduate qualification in relevant field of specialty (if applicable - ie Post Grad in Critical Care for ED)

Desirable:

  • Recognised Leadership or Management Qualification (or evidence of working towards same)
